Good book, just wish it was longer.Its interesting how the 80/20 principle affects so many areas of our lives. Negative visualization was another helpful concept("What's the worse that could happen if I get rid of this item?") and "can you replace it easily for $20?", if so, then get rid of it. This year Ive decluttered about half of my belongings ,including over a hundred articles of clothing.Some of these points he mentioned were pioneered decades ago by Don Aslett and others, but its always good to hear it again and apply it.
Funny how I spent my post college years accumulating stuff to put in my big house and 3 car garage. As my 3 daughters head into and out of college, I look forward to ridding myself of the same stuff. We come into the world with nothing and leave with nothing. Id like to fill the hyphen between the entry and exit points with rich experience s and meaningful relationships.This book is an excellent how to guide and I look forward to applying the lessons.
This is simple and to the point. I like that it is well organized and concise. It's easy to read a chapter in a few minutes and get the info you need. I've been on a minimalism kick lately but I often get overwhelmed. This helped me to get back on track and take things in small bits. I focus on cleaning out a single shelf in stead of a whole room. Thanks!
but I couldn't take anything seriously with all the spelling errors, literally on every single page.It is a very short read. I don't know why or how this many mistakes could get past a novice editor.
Aston is very persuasive, and I actually agree with him. When a tornado struck my home, I lost a lot of "stuff" that I ended up not replacing. What would really help me now is to have someone to help me go through the process of culling what 's in my closets and the rooms in my house....or maybe my children can do it after I am gone!
I WAS INSPIRED AS SOON AS I WAS DONE WITH THE FIRST CHAPTER. REALLY SIMPLE TO READ AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND. I'M ALREADY FOLLOWING HIS ADVICE. LOVED IT AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This book is well written, and goes into detail of how to minimize and declutter Your life in different aspects of Your life. While it did not help in all aspects of My life it did help with the digital clutter. Alas, give this book a try and see how it helps You.
