Too generic and plebian
Great book! Read it in 3 days but the book ended with a suggestion to request a complimentary asset audit. It provided an email address and phone #. I received a call back saying Mr. Goldstein passed away and the new law firm never heard of the complimentary service that Mr. Goldstein promoted.Needless to say after a good read ,I was a little disappointed.
This book is an easy read and is the best "primer" book on the topic of asset protection out there. Dr. Goldstein has practiced asset protection for over 40 years and is thus probably the most experienced AP planner in America. It explores many practical solutions and strategies for keeping your wealth safe from creditors. I recommend it for anyone who is just learning about asset protection and wants a good foundational understanding of the subject.If you're looking for a more detailed, in-depth treatise on Asset Protection, which pulls out all the stops and explores the most advanced strategies available (DBETTs, DEMMLLCs, obligation-based liens, UFTA §8(a) strategies, SynRoths, Ultimate LLCs, advanced offshore strategies, and a host of other stuff that NO OTHER BOOK talks about) then I highly recommend "Asset Protection... In Financially Unsafe Times", also written by Dr. Goldstein. It has over 440 endnotes and explains the case and statutory law surrounding key asset protection concepts, so you REALLY understand the world of asset protection at a deep level.
